ITS/USS Support for Handheld Devices

ITS will provide on-line, self-service documentation for Supported Functions on handheld devices that meet defined Minimum Support Requirements.

Due to the vast number of rapidly changing devices on the market today, ITS has defined Unsupported Functions/Application Features and Devices.

ITS will also provide post-Active Directory (AD) migration support, technical training workshops and self-service documentation to Local Area Network (LAN) Coordinators. Individual users must use self-service documentation, working in conjunction with their LAN Coordinators (as applicable).

ITS will provide self-service documentation for users who are not represented by a Service Level Agreement (SLA) or LAN Coordinator. Those self-service documents can be found on these web pages.

A significant upgrade of Cal Poly's Oracle Collaboration Suite Calendar and Messaging System to the "10g" platform is planned within the next year. This change will provide new mobile communications and computing functionality for Cal Poly users.

ITS recommends owners of working handhelds whose functionality meets basic needs not buy new devices at this time.
