Supported Functions on Handhelds
- Synchronization of Calendar, Contacts and Tasks with a primary workstation (one user, one account, one device).
- Limited Email
- Email support is limited to Windows Mobile Messaging Client using secured IMAP over the air and USB cable with recommended OCFO (Oracle Connector for Outlook) setup.
- E-mail will only be functional or supportable on smart phones that utilize built-in Windows operating systems and messaging software.
- In addition, email support will be limited to basic receive/view/send functions. Advanced email management should be the responsibility of the user as it can best be addressed with desktop clients at the workstation or laptop.
- Future Support for Recommended Anti-virus and Encryption Software
- ITS recommends the use of anti-virus software. Anti-virus software can be obtained by contacting the Service Desk at servicedesk@calpoly.edu
- ITS recommends the use of encryption software for devices that contain sensitive content and is currently researching encryption products.
